Wow yes! I heard Ruben's interview live last week and he is well spoken and accomplished. It's nice to have some refreshing news on this forum that is positive.
It's a great pleasure to see our country with people that are qualified both in and out in the country capable representing. We need to value sports and culture more in our homeland.

Unfortunately we could have had more then three people participating. I know there are many talents throughout the different disciplines in Europe and U.S who would be proud to represent, but efforts on the political front back home is of deplorable capacity for the past decades. Much are done and spent on things of less importance, while athletes are overlooked. It will be a matter of time until people are put in place with a different education and culture to value sports and the Olympic dream is casted under a new light with a serious effort.

Congratulation Ruben I will cheering you and everyone else there. It would be a great dream for many back home to have this aspiration if they knew they would have support from the country. The I.O.C and the W.T.F has initiated programs that can help the country, but in the past 3 decades it has always been stagnant due to both, lack of genuine interest and low level of priority for the government. There are so much untapped talented young people in all areas, from sports to medicine and sciences which could do wonders for our nation, but choices that are made today needs to stay on the route of the "Kaizen" Japanese philosophy of constant and never ending improvement.

É a diáspora a representar o nosso país! Viva a diáspora caboverdiana!
