On August 17 a group of 42 mostly Cape Verdean-Americans will be making a pilgrimage to Cape Verde to spend two weeks touring six Islands on the “Vive Bo Vida 2012 Tour”.
This group will have first time visitors of 3rd and 4th generation CV-Americans; 6 native CV’s returning for first time after more than 50 years, 16 Seniors and 10 youngsters.
“This is one of the largest groups ever to make the trip from the USA to Cape Verde,” said Alcides Vicente, Tour Operator. “We had a great response for this trip. Many others wanted to go but we put a limit at 42 for this time. The group is very diverse and enthusiastic about making this historic trip,” Vicente said.
The group will be visiting Santiago, Sal, Sao Vicente, Santo Antao, Fogo and Brava. “We have an ambitious set of mini tours within each Island designed to share morabeza and each Island’s unique views and tourist attractions,” said Elsa Vicente, Tour Operator. “This is our second major group tour and if all goes as well as our last tour, we will be able to introduce more CV-Americans and Friends to our beautiful Islands.”
Amongst the group, a Father and Son making their first trip to connect to the roots of their Maternal Grand Parents, a Mother, Daughter and Grand Daughter trio, and 6 American Friends.
“We brag about Cape Verde and our morabeza so much that friends are excited to experience it for themselves,” said Madalena Soares, Tour Operator. We hope to coordinate with government officials and business people to make it extra special for all.”
As Cape Verde tourism develops, the USA is a great target for growth amongst not only Ex Pats and Cape Verdean-Americans, but Americans looking for a unique vacation. “Cape Verde has tremendous potential for tourism as it offers so much in diverse interests”, said Alcides Vicente. “If you want beaches—we have world class beaches. If you want hiking we have great challenging hiking opportunities including hiking up a 9,000 ft active volcano. If you want eco-tours, fishing, water sports and historical sites, Cape Verde has it”, Vicente said.

Also the passangers from de Barlavento Islands is in disvantage. Some wait 3 to get to their destinations wich is inacceptavel.
